Ever since the existence of hashtag (it starts from Twitter and Instagram, and of course, Facebook being FOMO had to include hashtags on their website as well), people had been using it extensively. Some uses it the right way, but others, wellll.... can I just say that they need to go to social media school before using hashtag? Hahahaha. Nevertheless, I enjoy reading hashtags because you'll never know what you will find. Among all the hashtag that people uses, I love how Vivy Yusof (check out her Instagram, @vivyyusof for those funny hashtags) uses her hashtags. This is her recent posting and I've gotta say, she's really creative and witty with her hashtags.




I mean, Vivy, can you not be funny for once? Hahahaha


Until yesterday.


So my bestfriend, Moses, has this habit of posting funny pictures that he found on 9Gag or Facebook into our chatroom. Yesterday, he posted something about the longest hashtag and I'm like, ' meh. Another one of his jokes. Kelak lah check. ' as I was still busy doing some work. Then suddenly, I don't know why I suddenly feel like I want to open Facebook on browser. So I did. But before I feel like opening my Facebook, I saw notifications on my Facebook but I just like, 'meh. Maybe it's group notification. No need to check lah.'

You know that thing about instinct? Yeah. Mine kicked in last night although I can't make sense to why I need to check my Facebook (but on Moses' post in our chatroom I can't even sense wtf hahaha). So the moment I was on Facebook, I saw this:



Then I immediately check Moses post in our chatroom, and I saw THIS:



And I was like, hahahahahahahaha this dude ah, VERY FARNI! I read the comment one by one and laughed at every single one of it. So the moment he reached home, I immediately called him and asked, "sempat jugak kamu post ni. Dahlah hashtag panjang sangat. Mana dapat idea tu?" And he laughed at what I asked him. I also told him that, combined total of likes (as at when I called him last night) was almost 80++, AND COUNTING. He was shocked to hear it. And I'm like, "what do you expect? Your post is too sweet for everyone to handle," hahahahahahaha (and I still getting remarks about it today in the office).

I think I need to school him on proper lengths of hashtag hahaha. However, he's getting good at taking my pictures so we're good, guys. Hahaha.

I am at this age where I'm "supposedly" have a potential life partner in had,

and I am supposed to plan my wedding and prepare to get married.

Then after the wedding, I am supposed to bear children.

Then after that, take care of my kids.

Then, watch them grow.

However, I am nowhere near figuring that out.

Heck, I am still struggling with what to wear to office tomorrow (because preparing early avoids being late in the morning hahaha).

And I am supposed to figure out about my life partner? 

To have their presence in my life now?

I understand the fear that some parents (or grandparents, for that matter) that when their child (grandchildren) reaches a certain age and they have yet to have a potential partner in their life, 

But sometimes, I feel that some parents do not try to understand their children's position; especially in today's world where everything is overpriced and the value of our money is shrinking. 

How is one expected to build a new life with loans to begin with? 

Personal loan - for a lavish wedding to impress the many people that you don't even know 

(I'm using my culture as an example; not intended to hurt anybody out there); and most of the time they are the relatives that you don't even know. 

Credit cards - to buy the things that you might not need today 

Perhaps that's the reason why we heard of so many cases of divorces in this era.

Because they feel so pressured of their parents' nagging; their grand uncles/aunties *mind you, that you only met ONCE a year, during certain FESTIVE SEASON* question of "When is your turn?" etc.

I have this friend, who got married because she feels that she is getting "old". 

And when she got pregnant, her husband still continues to go clubbing until the wee hours of the morning, just like those days when they were still dating.

Except this time, he goes ALONE. 

He can't even take a day off just to accompany her for her routine check up.

Instead, he asked, "Is it necessary for you to go check up every few weeks? You're pregnant. So?"

The nerve of that guy. *rolls eyes*

So I was having my lunch alone today *insert the foreveralone.jpeg image here* at KFC because I was craving. Damn period make the hormones go crazy and crave for food.

As I was seated at my seat, there was this family, consist of a mother, daughter and grandmother seated across my table. The girl was holding a monopod, trying to take a selfie with her grandmother who is busy eating the KFC chicken. My first thought, "girls, selfie and monopod. What else is new?" And I continued eating. But after a while, *cue in fifteen minutes later*, this girl is still taking selfie, from different angles. My second thought, "perlu kah show ngan dunia you eat at KFC? KFC jer pun." And continued eating.

I am not sure they were speaking in what languange, but my wild guess was they were talking in Orang Ulu language. I heard the mother did said something to the daughter, maybe not to selfie too much and eat her food. I guess la.

Half an hour passed, and the girl was still holding her monopod, taking God knows how many selfie she took. By that time, I can't help myself but to give dirty look because I was annoyed at the girl hahaha sorry I can't help myself. I mean, can't you just be in the moment and live your life? Perlu kah every few seconds selfie? That's the problem with today's generation; eveything also want to document online. Pergi jamban pun mok selfie. Goodness gracious. Maybe I sound like an old soul, but there are things that you should keep to yourself. And that is what you call PRIVACY.

Young kids, if you don't know what's the meaning of "PRIVACY", look it up in the dictionary. And another thing, don't selfie too much in the public. Do you know how ridiculous it looks?




Nah. Belanja satu selfie. Hahaha.

Yesterday, I had a date with Mel. Our plan was supposed to be simple:

• Meet up at church (St Dominic, Taman Tunku)
• Go to Beach Republic.

But when I entered inside, it was the most beautiful church I've ever been to in Miri. 

With the beautiful wooden pew, and the way the wooden pew is placed, I was just at awe.

And on that moment, somehow, I felt at home.

Don't get me wrong.

I've been to St Joseph Cathedral, Carmelite chapel and also Church of  Mater Dei, Lutong.

But for some weird reason, I feel a bit like an outsider. 

Well, except for Mater Dei.

Mater Dei reminded me of Blessed Sacrement Church, BDC.

But St Dominic's, the moment I stepped inside the church, I feel like I am home.

Until I realized, that the arrangements of the wooden pew benches is quite similar to St Mark's church, Batu Kawah.

The one that I always go to whenever I'm back in Kuching.

Almost shed a tear when I realized that fact.

The fact that I can't go back anytime soon.

The fact that I actually do miss home.

But nevertheless, I am happy because I get to go to church, *and it makes me feels like home some more!*, and I get to spend time with Mel, outside of office. 

Told papa about it, and he said that it's good as the church reminds me of home (since he is at home at the time. Jealous much). 

The best part about the mass, 

is that the priest reminds me of Father Albert, who is also a foreign priest. I like how he deliver his sermon.

He even thought the congregations how to sing Our Father.

How special.

It's quite rare to find a priest is willing to actually teach the congregations to sing Our Father. 

In short, I can say,

I FEEL LIKE HOME AT THE DURATION OF ONE HOUR

despite the fact that I was lost earlier. 

After I send my selfie, suddenly everyone posted their selfie in the chatroom. And then, it got me thinking, "why don't I compile all the pictures and post it on Instagram. So I did. The next thing I realized, 

IT'S MY 500th POST! 

The kumangs mean a lot to me. So to realized that I posted something meaningful, just as what I wanted earlier, just makes me believe in Law of Attraction even more. 

So yeah. That's my update for now. Will update when I.... ermmm... update. Haha.

Note: this post has been 'sitting' in my draft for a few days now. Finally got the chance to blog it out today because (1) I'm using my laptop and (2) the internet connection I am currently using right now is stable *hint: office Wi-fi*. Nevertheless, I will try to write it in present tense to keep it interesting.

Ever since I blogged for, I don't know how many donkey years ago, I had always wanted to write a letter to myself. Actually, I wanted to write a letter to myself during my birthday but somehow I was not that inspired to do it. But after reading Timothy Tiah's Dayre yesterday (November 12th), I decided to write a letter to the 16 year old me, who is a confused teenager, wondering what will happen to her in the future. I even sent the link to Rachel and she approved of it. So I asked her if I should share to the rest of the kumangs;  she said it's up to me. Initially, I wanted to share my Dayre link, but because I wrote the letter in two days, I decided that I just copy and paste it here, in this blog, so less hassle lah. Here is the letter, and enjoy reading.

Earlier this morning, I had my daily dose of @timothytiah's Dayre and he wrote a letter to himself called #letterto16me . I was so inspired reading his post, and I had always wanted to write a letter to my own self so this is me, joining in the wagon to write a #letterto16me.


Dear Marcella.

So now you are in Form 4, in a science stream class because you achieved straight 7A's for your PMR. Congratulations. And you are currently going strong (sort of) with your boyfriend who is 3 years older

than you. But then, something happened along the way and you two broke up. Well, if I put it harshly, he had to leave you because he made a woman pregnant with his child.

But if you must know, you find yourself a new replacement after that. Not bad for a girl with spectacles and average looking, huh? And you already imagined in the future that you will get married to him, and have a family with him etc. Again, my dear, you are wrong. The only thing you have common with him is that your love

for P.Ramlee movies and that he looks a bit like Awal Ashaari. Your relationship with him too, failed a year later but I tell you what. All these break ups, eventually shape you into the person you are today. I know it was not easy for you to forget him (you were still thinking of him when you were entering into a new relationship with a guy who impacted your life), but you will eventually realized why you are not meant to be with him. And when you do, you would say, "what was I thinking the

whole time when I was with him?" Yes, there are times you actually think about it but eventually you will laugh it off, just like you normally do Hahaha.

Oh. Remember your best friends, (Let's just call them) A and F and AL? you will be surprised to know that they are no longer your go to people anymore. After you turn 21, it was really hard to keep in touch with them, because everyone basically has their own life. You just entered your first year of university, A just finished her studies in

Giatmara while F just started studying again at ICats (because her parents believe that only education can change her life). AL on the other hand, managed to get herself into nursing school and surprise! She got married at the age of 23 and has a baby boy at the age of 24. The reason why I said that they are no longer your go to people anymore is because, they just don't insert the same effort to keep in touch with you, just like how you did to them. You eventually got fed up with just words,

and decided that indeed action speaks louder than words. you will still be friends on this social media call Facebook and Instagram, but that is the closest of the interaction that you have to them rather than you just lost contact just like that. In a way, social media actually do save our lives when it comes to keeping in touch with others.

In terms of education, you dream to go to private college such as Sunway College. You don't care that it actually costs a lot and your parents can't afford it because they are just government servants and you come from a middle income family. Surprisingly, your dream school changes once you finished Form 5 and again during your Form 6 years. Try and Guess where you ended up doing your degree? (In a course that you NEVER dream you would actually do)

That is you, in front of your Alma mater, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, or famously known as UNIMAS. When you were in your upper 6, you actually said that you don't want to end up there because it's still in your hometown. But look at you, posing in front of your alma mater, proudly.

You graduated with a Bachelor Degree of Finance in Honours. Yes, FINANCE. Something you never had dreamt in a million years that you would do. There are times, especially in your second years, you doubted yourself on why you are chosen to study Finance (of all the people out there). However, you always choose to look at the bright sight of things and believe that this course is just a door that opens up an opportunity that will come in your life. Yes, my dear. You would be very much surprise of

how positive you are as a person, compared to the time when you were in secondary school.

In Unimas as well, you eventually will meet with these group of people whom you will never thought in a million years will play such an important role in your life. One of them is your soul sister, Rachel Rinta, who's standing just next to you on your left. You always believe that soul mates come in the form of another gender. Now, let me tell you a few facts about your soul sister, Rachel Rinta. Rachel is actually one year younger than you. Pure Iban from Betong, has two elder brothers and one

younger sister. The reason why she is your soul sister, a female version of your soul mate is that because, you both have the same frequency in thinking, either if it comes to life, friendship, anything lah. You two, made a really great team when it comes to assignment that whenever you two group up with Lajing and Achis, you two are so dominant as compared to your male counterpart Lol. She is very good at analyzing data, and you are good when it comes to theory and facts. So, when you two

combine, you two created a very strong character of each other. The best part about your friendship? You both can actually finishes each other's sentences (mind you, you never have this when you were in your serious relationships , or have yet to find your male soul mate).and communicate just by using your eyes. Yes, that is how close you are to her. She is also a good listener to you, especially when you just broke up with A, and when you were having roller coaster of emotion when it comes to

this particular guy, Let's just call him "your future husband". And because she loves you so much, she is never afraid to tell you the truth, even though if it hurts you. This is the main reason why you don't go to A, F or AL anymore. Because when you come to them with your emotional problems, they keep on saying all the good things, and not let you see the truth for the fear that you might get hurt.

Wow. My #letterto16me is actually longer than I think hahaha.

In terms of work, you would be very much surprise on what position and where you ended up. This one, I let you discover by yourself because I can't tell you much as I just started this journey. But I can tell you this though. No matter how people around you are trying to push you away from what you are doing, stand on your ground, take baby steps towards success. Give yourself time, because success don't come easily. Just ask your

leader, your mentor, how did success comes to her, and how she defines success. You would be surprise that you really look up to her as a role model, even though she looks like any other aunty that you've seen; very motherly, very friendly. Don't worry. Know that you are in the right team, and believe that you will achieve what you want to achieve (which is leading a group of people and making an impact in people's life), you are already half way there, tasting your own success.

 Oh, before I end this #letterto16me, I want you to know, that, believe it or not, you are 24 years, 9 months and one week old (as of when this picture was taken). You are no where near a relationship (you have been telling yourself that you'll get married at the age of 25 or 26 I don't know who or why you are influenced to think that way hahaha). You do have someone in your mind though, of who you want to spend your life with (clue: future husband. Double Lol). You will not expect that you

actually want him to be in your life. There are a few reasons why you want him to be your husband (Lol omg); I'm not gonna reveal here why though. It is for me to know, and for you to find out.  Because there will be one point in your life (or maybe a few more points, Idk. I hope not. The first one already hurts like hell, and it's even worst than your break up with A. Don't believe, ask your best friend, Hany. ) that you will experience an emotional roller coaster when it comes to him.
But I tell you what. Just keep believing in the law of attraction, and the power of visualization (you will be shock to know that you've actually practiced it long before you know the law existed), and for all you know, you will end up with him.

So I was minding my own business, going from one website to the other,

while listening to lite.fm's Love Song via Astro decorder (lol).

I find that these days, my ears can only accept the musics played by lite.fm.

Only occasionally I tune in to Mixfm or Era.

Hitz.fm? I'm sorry but ever since this thing called "electronic music" becomes the in-thing,

I stopped listening to them. Plus they have a habit of playing the same song every one hour so,

no thank you lol.

I guess I'm too old to listen to Hitz haha.

Anyways, like I mentioned earlier, I was browsing through the net when suddenly I heard some familiar lyrics:

"If you love me, like you tell me

And I was like, 

EHHHHHHH!!! BE CAREFUL WITH MY HEARTTTTT!!!! *cue in dramatic hyperventilating, hand wailing in the air kind of hyperventilating here*

Then I listened to the guy's voice and I was like,

"Hmmm... how come he doesn't sound like Sir Chief?"

*Yes, I was bitten by the Sir Chief love bug.*

That guy in that shiny, grey suit, is Sir Chief to be exact.

Please Google on your own if you do not know what this dramedy is about, 

because I'm not gonna talk about the drama here.

So back to my hyperventilating mode earlier.

Took my trusted Siti and searched for the TrackId app, and after several trials *am sooooo gonna uninstall this app and replace it with Shazam instead*, 

I discovered that it is indeed the song Please Be Careful With My Heart.

But it was an older version, and perhaps the original version of the song.

The one that is sang by Richard Yap (who played Sir Chief) and Jodi Sta Maria (Maya Dela Rosa) is a cover, which eventually became the theme song of the dramedy of the same title.

This video is the version that I heard on lite.fm. 

If you can actually seen that lady's blazer and her hair cut, you'll know it is not that current. Lol.

Oh, this is also sang by Filipinos.

Filipinos are super talented in singing eh?

And then, there's another version by Christian Bautista and Sarah Geronimo, also Filipinos.

All the three, sound quite similar.

Although I think I love Richard Yap and Jodi's version more; maybe cause I'm used to listening to it during watching the drama before.

So, after the hyperventilating moment and all, I had an ah-ha moment.

I think this song makes it to my wedding playlist that I have, in my mind palace. Haha.

What? A girl can dream of their own dream wedding, no?

nowplaying: Strange Things Will Happen - The Radio Department

Before the existence of technology (i.e smartphones, laptops, computers, you get the gist),

I was a bookworm. 

Yes, I enjoy reading. Although these days my reading materials consists of my favourite bloggers,

occasionally columnist on newspapers (although I rarely do that nowadays), 

random articles that I find interesting on Twitter (Thought Catalog mostly, lol)

and sometimes, online newspapers.

See how the technology reduced my reading materials?

Not to mention, it has reduced my attention span on reading.

Explains why my grades eventually dropped when I enter university haha. 

I have the attention span of a goldfish.

I was always a person with the attention span of a goldfish,

can't stand doing the same thing for a long time.

But yes, like I've mentioned earlier, I was a bookworm.

The smell of books makes me high (not in the wrong way).

I started reading at a very young age.

I believe I was four, or was it five, when I started reading my first book.

Perks of being a teacher's daughter, I guess (language teachers some more).

And even though I entered kindergarten later than most people (due to transportation problems back then),

I was actually one of the brightest (I think), in my class.

I mean, why else would I have a certificate saying that I am the best student award? Haha.

I was even a member of the then DBKU City Library which was situated behind Hopoh,

(I don't even know where the current DBKU library is situated -_-")

 along with my parents.

Once every fortnight, Papa would bring me to the library and he will let me borrow as many books as I want, even using the quotas entitled under his name as well as mummy's.

I will always look forward to the visits to library, for I know,

every visit to the library means I get to read new books.

When I was younger, I enjoy reading BM books, mostly about investigations, where the investigator is a girl of a very young age. 

I guess that's how I pick up my curiosity on things/life haha.

As I grew older, I like different kinds of books.

Although I can't remember what kind of books I read, but what I do remember is that I enjoy BM novels.

Romance ones especially.

I remember once upon a time, I can actually read a BM romance novel in just one day over the school holidays.

That's how much a bookworm I was until........

I discovered, THE INTERNET.

I was sixteen when Papa decided to installed Streamyx at home.

I can't remember why he installed it, but I remember how happy I was when he did, that I actually told my friends about it.

And then, one day, my friend suggested that I should get into this social networking website, called,

FRIENDSTER.

To kids of this age, in the case of you do not know what is this thing called Friendster,

it was the Facebook during my time. 

If you have a Friendster back then, you were considered the "cool kids". Yerr.. Lol

And I can safely say, books are not my best friend anymore.

The closest thing I have to reading is by reading textbooks, or literature books for exam purposes.

Oh, not forgetting my Cleo magazines.

I've been a loyal reader of Cleo magazine since I was seventeen, thanks to my school's effort of making each class to have a reading corner.

The cool kids were always the ones who donates books, magazines and such, and among the magazines that they donate is Cleo.

Because I don't have the money to buy such magazines back then, 

the only time I get to read Cleo was in school, from our reading corner. Haha.

But as I turn eighteen, I usually use my own salary to buy Cleo; sometimes I had my then boyfriend to pay the magazine. 

Yes, I was the kind of girl who makes her boyfriend pays for the smallest thing, even a magazine. 

Although, I am not one anymore.

Anyhoo, back to my book stories.

Let's just conclude that after the age of eighteen, I stopped reading storybooks altogether (the last book I read was, the Jackie Kennedy autobiography, at one of the school's available reading corner. And mind you, it was a very, thick book, especially for a seventeen-year-old who is going to sit for her SPM).

And this persists even up to my university days.

Although I do find myself reading some self help books every now and then

(cue in Chicken Soup for the Soul here),

I am like most typical Malaysians, who reads only two books or less throughout one year.

However, suddenly, this year, I picked up my reading hobby again

because I found myself having the time of my life.

You know, by being unemployed (except for the seven weeks I became a relief teacher) and all.

And so far, I have read three books, 

1. The Secret by Rhonda Byrne

The best friend is kind enough to let me borrow this book because she realized that I keep finding myself falling for guys who are "emotionally" unavailable for me, when I am willing to give so much for them.
It was really an eye opener for me.
I mean, I had waited for almost two years for something to happen when clearly,
this dude had moved on waaaaay ahead than I was.
And this book, just proves that I am was stupid for waiting for such a long time for someone to be emotionally available for me.
